Grounded in Texture
My name is Jaice, an abstract artist based in Bendigo, Australia. Over the past several years, I have been immersed in the practice of creating textured works, developing a process that is both intuitive and deeply material-driven. My connection to art has always been instinctive—an ongoing pull toward making, experimenting, and translating feeling into form.
Texture sits at the core of my work. I am continually exploring ways to build, layer, and manipulate surfaces, allowing each piece to evolve through touch as much as through vision. There is something grounding and almost meditative in this process—an interplay between control and organic emergence that shapes the final outcome.
My inspiration is drawn heavily from the natural world—its tones, imperfections, and quiet complexities. I’m particularly influenced by subtle colour shifts, raw surfaces, and the sensory experience of touch. These elements inform not only the aesthetic of my work but also the way each piece is intended to be experienced.
At the heart of my practice is a desire to bring ideas into tangible form—to create works that feel considered, tactile, and connected. This space is an opportunity to share a curated collection of pieces I have developed over time, alongside current explorations that continue to push my process forward.
Commissions
I take on a limited number of commissioned works, each thoughtfully developed to reflect a refined balance of texture, tone, and form. If you’re interested in a custom piece, please enquire to begin the process.
